David is a 4th generation real estate broker and got his license at the age of 18 while attending CU in Boulder, CO. After college, he moved to Aspen and got his first experience listing and selling property. He came back to Boulder to get an MBA in Real Estate (and be closer to his girlfriend and future wife, Anna). He started as an agent with Coldwell Banker Bodin Realty in Boulder in 1992.

He first became managing broker at Fowler Better Homes and Gardens in 1998 then came back to Coldwell Banker as managing broker of the Conifer office and later, the West office in Lakewood. In 2002, he joined the Jim Bodin team in Boulder and helped Jim grow from two licensed assistants to the 10-agent, 5-staff mega team that became the #1 Top Team for Coldwell Banker in Colorado for many years. During that time, David participated directly in approximately 1000 transactions, as well as directed the operations and marketing for the team.

In 2008, David left sales and management to become an Executive Business Consultant for Coldwell Banker Real Estate, LLC (the brand) and was responsible for providing brand services to the franchisees, including the primary function of business planning. During his 6 year tenure, he consulted with over 50 different companies in a territory spanning 6 western states, and oversaw a book of business of approximately $60M annual GCI and 700 sales associates.

David lives in Louisville with his wife Anna, son Sam (15), and a menagerie of pets. Another son, Charlie (18), is in his first year of college at CU. With a special appreciation for Colorado’s high country, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking and trail running are all activities pursued with great enthusiasm. David is a three-time finisher of the Leadville Trail 100 running race, and was the 43rd person ever to complete the “Leadman,” by finishing all five races of the Leadville Race Series in one year: 100-mile run, 100-mile mountain bike, trail marathon, 50-mile mountain bike and 10K run. David has also recently taken up pack burro racing (Colorado’s official summer heritage sport), and is currently training with his donkey, Ellroy, for a run at the World Championship in Fairplay this summer. A fourth time on the Leadville Trail 100 course is also planned, with a goal to finish with a PR under 24 hours.
