- LRE® Profile
Like many Park City residents, I came for the skiing and never left. I arrived in 1984 as a ski instructor with Deer Valley Resort and quickly became the #1 most requested instructor. During my time as a ski instructor, I would help my ski clients choose condos and land in Deer Valley area that would be good investments as well as enjoyable places for their family and friends.
By 1989 I realized that I had a passion for real estate and that my 25 years teaching skiing gave me the proper skills to help people find the right property in an enjoyable and stress-free manner. I put the same energy into real estate that I had done with ski instructing and quickly rose to the top in Park City. I was elected to represent the Park City Realtors on the board of directors, became the President of the Park City Board of Realtors and the managing broker of a Coldwell Banker office.
My passion remains for the selling of real estate, and helping people discover what a wonderful place Park City is. I still enjoy working with "out of town" buyers and helping them realize their dream of owning a mountain vacation home. Let me help you realize your dream!
A local Park City real estate agent's services are critical to any home-buying process. But on vacation and second homes in particular, out-of-town buyers must depend on their agent for professional recommendations on location, value, and ski or recreation access. Trust this advice to an experienced, local Park City real estate agent. With 20 years of selling luxury Park City and Deer Valley real estate, I can give you insight as to neighborhood, access to the ski slopes, trails, and golf courses, vacation property management and so much more that you simply cannot gather from the internet alone. And remember that new developments that are still in the planning stages and even the beginning stages of construction aren't always going to be available to search in the local MLS. This is where my experience is essential. As your agent, I can introduce you to all of the new home developments in Park City and Deer Valley, keep you up to date on their progress, and help you find the perfect vacation home in the Utah mountains.
My staff and I have been active in Park City real estate sales since 1989. I am a recipient of the Masters Level Professional Achievement Award as well as past president of the Park City Board of Realtors. I am a dedicated Park City real estate agent who can offer knowledgeable feedback on all areas in Park City. From the ski slopes of Deer Valley, Park City, and The Canyons Resort, to the residential communities within and around the Park City area, I am the Park City real estate agent that you have been searching for.
The Rocky Mountain Resort Alliance and the Western Mountain Resort Alliance
The Rocky Mountain Resort Alliance is an association of Boards of Realtors of destination ski resorts in the Rocky Mountain West, formed in 1996 at a meeting in Vail, Colorado, with the presidents of the various boards of Realtors attending.
At this meeting, the various presidents discussed and came to the realization that geographic boundaries were no longer as important as the common bond that we share as resort real estate agents. We understood that the marketing and selling of resort real estate is very different from the traditional models of residential real estate sales. Our buyers and sellers have different expectations and goals and are looking for a Realtor with knowledge of the resort markets. Frequently, buyers for a vacation home in one resort are comparing similar properties in neighboring resorts. From this realization came the idea of sharing sales information from the various resorts as well as pressing issues the resorts are facing. We know that because of the mountains, we have very limited space for development and housing the work force are issues facing each resort. As the demand for resort real estate grows, and prices increase, there is more pressure on finding suitable housing for the very important work force.
The Rocky Mountain Resort Alliance began with six boards of Realtors in four states. Since that beginning, we have expanded to thirteen boards in six states and British Columbia, Canada. The member boards are: Park City, Utah; Sun Valley and McCall, Idaho; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Steamboat Springs, Summit County, Vail, Aspen, Winter Park and Telluride, Colorado; Big Sky, Montana; Lake Tahoe, California; and Whistler/Blackombe in British Columbia, Canada. The alliance meets three times a year in the various resorts where we put on resort specific education for our members, share sales and resort information with each other and gain an understanding of our neighboring resorts. In June of 2009, in light of our recent addition of Lake Tahoe, California, we became the Western Mountain Resort Alliance.
As a result of our efforts, the Nation Association of Realtors (NAR) has become aware of the unique and important role that resort real estate agents play in the US housing market. NAR has started their own resort committee where they help resort Realtors gain resort specific education and work with the US Government housing departments to protect the benefits of second home ownership. The Western Mountain Resort Alliance works closely with NAR to achieve these goals and many of our members serve on the national resort committee. We are committed to the marketing and selling of resort real estate and protecting the benefits our owners of vacation real estate enjoy.
After 16 years as president of the Western Mountain Resort Alliance, I felt it was time to relinquish control to others with perhaps new and different directions. I am still involved as Past President and advisor to the current officers.
