Carla UmlaufView on LuxuryRealEstate.com
As a native Austinite, design enthusiast and entrepreneur, Carla Umlauf prides herself in being involved in the culture and growth of this city. Her success as one of Austin’s top producing Realtors® is grounded in her market expertise, strength of her network, relentless work ethic and knowledge of residential construction and design. During her long career, Carla has sold over $100 million in volume and has helped more than 300 families in real estate transactions. She has been awarded as a member of the Luxury League, Platinum Top 50 Realtors, and was named as one of Austin’s 10 Most Powerful Women in 2016 by Austin Way.
Carla goes above and beyond for her clients, giving them honest advice and personalized attention regardless of price range, home size or location. She appreciates the thrill of finding the right property and selling a home, but she finds the most reward in the relationships that are formed during a transaction. The majority of Carla’s business stems from repeat and referral clientele and she represents a wide variety of clients ranging from first time home buyers, designers and architects, developers and luxury clientele. Carla appreciates the high level of in-house support she receives at Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty because it allows Carla to spend more time meeting her clients’ needs.
Prior to entering the world of real estate, Carla attended the University of Texas at Austin and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Carla worked first hand with families to help children escape abuse and neglect during her tenure as a caseworker with Child Protective Services. This work taught her the importance of kindness and advocacy during times of crisis and negotiation. The families she assisted during her time as a caseworker made a significant impact in the way Carla treats others and influenced her drive to make a difference in this community. Casework was not Carla’s first experience in giving back. The Umlauf family has a long tradition of philanthropy. In 1985, her grandparents, Charles and Angie Umlauf, donated their home, artist studio, and acreage above Barton Springs to the City of Austin and founded the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. Carla continues to honor her grandparents’ legacy by having served on the non-profit’s Board of Trustees, organizing popup art exhibits, sculpture dedications and hosting lectures in support of the arts and architecture.
Carla is married to a local architect and they have two daughters who share their interest in art, dance, good food, and friends. They love spending time outdoors, enjoying Austin events, hosting parties and throwing the ball with their very hyper Springer Spaniel, Ollie.
